Ellie Goulding- Guns and Horses

I really like all these establishing shots of close ups of nature like the grass or the trees. I would like to include some of these in my own video as i think it is an effective way of setting the seen in an aesthetically pleasing way.

This long panning shot is really nice as it is a good way to introduce the singer and the setting of the video. I also like the way it pans in to a close up by the end of the shot. Her outfit she is wearing here is pretty typical of a girl her age and not particularly anything special so goes well with her laid back style of her music.

I love the use of a smoke machine in this video as it creates a eerie effect, complimenting the costume the dancers are wearing of the old military uniforms. The panning in this video helps create the eerie effect by traveling across from behind the tree while the dancer remains in a frozen pose.

I like this shot of the closeup of the dancer on the floor as you can still see the undergrowth in the floor, framing her. The cut between the shots so that her eyes go from being closed to open works really nicely as well.
The singer is in the same shot as the dancers but does not get involved in the complex dance routine and just does her own thing in the for ground. This along with the outfit separates her from the others, showing that she is the main focus of the video.
These shot of the dancers with a background of a curtain/ flag is a good way to break up the video from just being in the forest. It is also a nice motif that runs through the video, appearing in other scenes.

I like how this shot is filmed through the trees so you can see the foliage in the corners of the shot out of focus. The use of the long shot allows the audience to see the surroundings and the smokey background.

i really like this tableaux shot at the end with the assembled cast of dancers.
